How to get the most out of your budget..
Whether it be stills or video, on location or in a studio, Production budgets need to work very hard right now. And we get that. More than ever brands need to see a lot of bang for their buck, whilst ensuring the safety of all involved, and not compromising on creativity and quality.
I can’t emphasize this enough!
Consider your final usage for the content – what channels do you need to cover out of the shoot? Social stills, social videos online advertising, ATL advertising – they all come with multiple formats and design layouts, so ensure the crew & all creatives are briefed on the assets needed. The last thing you want is to edit in post and wish ‘If only I had shot that’.
Are there seasonal marketing events coming up where you can shoot and bank the assets for a later date? Thinking further ahead in the yearly calendar reduces the need for ad hoc shoots and means you’re more prepared.
If you require models, again consider the usage needed, don’t pay for usage you have no intention of needing, agree usage prior to the shoot and not retrospectively.
For a stills campaign, double up and shoot some video! Whilst you have the team and models all onset, allow time for a Videographer to jump in and shoot content you would otherwise have not got, again maximising what you can get out of your day.
An experienced, cohesive and creative crew will ensure the shoot runs as smoothly as possible and it will show in the end result.
